The Story of Alma Park
Alma Park was founded in 2013 by Andreas Althoff, Jens Haltermann and Dirk Podubrin in the spacious halls of the former Zeche Alma colliery in Ückendorf. It began as a multisport hall called “Sportpark Gelsenkirchen”, offering paintball, laser tag and Bubble Ball, and added more attractions and activities over the years. In 2017, it was renamed Alma Park and redesigned to reflect its mining heritage throughout the park. Today, the hall has 12 activities, 6 escape rooms and an adjoining dining area. More than 60 employees look after over 150,000 visitors each year, 365 days a year. The park is particularly busy at weekends and before public holidays. Its mix of relaxed, suspenseful and action-packed activities makes it popular with every age group.
