ALMA PARK KART RACING
Rules & Safety Briefing
Before your race
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time. The safety briefing is compulsory for every driver; you cannot race without attending it. Follow the Alma Park team's instructions at all times.
Clothing and requirements
Closed-toe shoes are compulsory. Flip-flops, sandals and high heels are not allowed. Tie back long hair and remove scarves, loose clothing and dangling jewellery before you start. Anyone under the influence of alcohol or drugs may not drive. Only drive if you feel physically fit to do so.
Getting into the kart
Only get in when instructed by a member of staff. Lower yourself carefully into the kart and remain seated. Keep your feet in the footwell and your hands on the steering wheel. Do not move off until the team or track signal gives you permission. Never leave the pits on your own initiative.
Behaviour on the track
Safety always comes before speed. Be considerate of other guests and friends. Deliberate ramming, forcing others off line and blocking are prohibited. Keep your hands and feet inside the kart while driving. Stay seated and do not lean out. Fair play is compulsory.
Track signals
Green: the track is clear and racing continues as normal. You may overtake fairly and without contact.
Yellow: caution. Slow down immediately. Do not overtake. Stay alert and be ready to brake.
Red: stop immediately, remain seated in your kart and wait for instructions from the staff.
Blue: a faster kart is behind you. Hold your line and let the faster driver pass as soon as it is safe.
Black/chequered flag: the race has ended. Complete your lap and enter the pit lane slowly.
Overtaking safely
Only overtake when there is enough room. Avoid all contact. Do not push another kart into the barriers or block in corners. The driver ahead generally has priority on the racing line. Always race fairly.
If you spin or have an accident
Stay seated in your kart. Do not try to push it back onto the track yourself. Raise one hand if you need help and wait for track staff. Only continue when the team gives you permission.
In the pit lane
Drive at walking pace in the pits. Take extra care at entrances and exits, follow the team's instructions and leave enough space behind the kart in front.
Getting out after the race
When the race finishes, enter the pit lane slowly. Remain seated until staff tell you it is safe to get out. Step out carefully and leave the pit area promptly so the next drivers can come in.
Children & teenagers
Drivers must meet the track's age and height requirements. Minors may need parental consent. The team may refuse participation for safety reasons.
Rule violations
Penalties range from a warning, time penalty or reduced kart speed to removal from the race without a refund. Serious misconduct leads to immediate removal.
Remember
Race fairly, keep your distance, watch the signals and always follow our team's instructions to make the most of your Alma Park race.
